3M™ 4462 Double Sided Foam Tape is a double-coated foam tape built on a 1/32" closed cell polyethylene foam carrier with rubber-based adhesive on both sides. The closed cell construction produces a conformable bond layer that fills minor surface irregularities, distributes stress across the bond line, and delivers a degree of vibration dampening and cushioning not achievable with film-based tapes.
The rubber adhesive system bonds effectively to polyethylene, polypropylene, and many other plastics — substrates that challenge acrylic-based alternatives — making this tape well suited to manufacturing assembly lines, retail display mounting, signage installation, and general industrial bonding tasks where plastic-to-plastic or plastic-to-substrate attachment is required. Optimal adhesive performance falls within a temperature range of 70°F to 100°F.
Each roll measures 1/2" wide by 72 yards and cases are packed 18 rolls. The tape ships via parcel carrier, supporting efficient replenishment for production and maintenance operations.
