3M™ 4462 Double Sided Foam Tape is a general-grade mounting and bonding tape built around a 1/32" thick closed cell polyethylene foam carrier coated on both sides with rubber adhesive. The foam construction conforms to irregular and uneven surfaces, distributing stress across the bond line while providing cushioning and vibration dampening between joined materials.
This tape suits indoor mounting, panel attachment, signage installation, gasket bonding, and light fabrication work. Its rubber adhesive system bonds to polyethylene, polypropylene, and many other plastics, making it a practical choice for manufacturing, retail display, and light assembly environments where rigid fastening methods are impractical on contoured or non-flat surfaces.
