3M™ 4947F VHB™ (Very High Bond) Tape is a 45 mil thick, double-sided black acrylic foam tape engineered for demanding permanent bonding applications where mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives are impractical. The acrylic foam core conforms to irregular and slightly curved surfaces, delivering high-strength adhesion even under dynamic stress and thermal cycling.
This tape is well suited for industrial assembly, OEM manufacturing, construction panel bonding, electronics component attachment, and exterior signage mounting. Its resistance to UV exposure, moisture, plasticizers, and solvents makes it reliable in both indoor and outdoor environments. The UL 746C listing supports use in electronic assemblies where flammability compliance is required.
The tape features a red polyethylene liner for controlled release during application and operates continuously from -40°F to 200°F. Each roll measures 3/4" wide by 5 yards long and weighs approximately 0.3 lbs. Sold as a single roll and ships via parcel carrier.
