3M™ 8981 is a 6.6 mil strapping tape built for heavy-duty bundling, palletizing, and carton reinforcement. Its clear polypropylene backing is reinforced with fiberglass filaments, giving it strong tensile resistance that holds under the stress of unitizing heavy loads or securing oversized cartons in transit.

The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds reliably to fiberboard, recycled corrugated, and printed corrugated surfaces — substrates where many tapes lose holding power. This makes it a practical choice for distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and fulfillment operations that process mixed or irregular packaging materials and cannot control surface condition at the point of application.

Each roll measures 2 inches wide by 60 yards long, reducing change-out frequency on high-volume lines.
