Scotch® Filament Tape 897 is a 6.0 mil strapping tape built with a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with fiberglass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber adhesive. At 1/2" wide and 60 yards per roll, it delivers strong tensile reinforcement in a narrow profile purpose-built for bundling, unitizing, and package reinforcement where precision placement matters.

The narrow width makes it a practical choice for bundling small components in electronics assembly, securing rolled goods in textile and print operations, and reinforcing seams on lightweight packages in e-commerce fulfillment. It also performs well in manufacturing environments where targeted reinforcement — rather than broad surface coverage — is the requirement.

The fiberglass yarn filaments resist splitting and elongation under load, and the polypropylene backing holds up against moisture, abrasion, and scuffing through transit and storage.
