Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is a 6.6 mil strapping tape built on a clear polypropylene film backing reinforced longitudinally with continuous glass yarn filaments and bonded with a synthetic rubber adhesive. The glass yarn construction delivers high tensile strength along the tape's length, distinguishing it from unreinforced packaging tapes and making it reliable for demanding bundling and unitizing tasks.

Warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution operations use this tape for L-clip closures, C-clip reinforcements, pallet unitizing, and carton reinforcement where standard packaging tape lacks sufficient tensile strength. The transparent backing keeps labels and barcodes visible when tape is applied over them, which is useful in scan-intensive fulfillment environments. The backing also resists abrasion, moisture, and scuffing during transit and storage handling.

The synthetic rubber adhesive provides high initial tack and long-term holding power on corrugated, plastic, and metal surfaces. Each case contains 72 rolls and ships via parcel carrier.
